Saturday Super Stories - The Event 3

"I have pulled from The Knowledge tales from the Event that ravaged two universes.  I start at the beginning and will tell the important parts, and while there are many stories to be told, this will be quick."  Chief Archivist of the Catalogers.

“Many things have been culled from this universe, many lives lost, some heroically, some fruitlessly, but everything and everyone met has had an impact.  Some people and places are the same regardless of the world on which it lay, it spreads like an infection.”

The Event 3 – Horizon

“Thank you all for coming, I know that we do not have the best of relationships but the Department of Superhuman Affairs needs your help.”  She stood in front of a massive monitor that covered an entire wall; a map of the Earth filled the screen, several small red dots blinked.  Several technicians were watching these points vigilantly.

“My name Agent Powerhouse and this is my wife Agent Frost, we are in charge of the DSA in North America.”  He clicked a device at another screen and photos of the HelixONE breach started as a slideshow moved the show on without anyone clicking anything more.  “Two weeks ago we suffered a dimensional breach that has ruptured our space/time continuum.  The breach tore into a villain’s base that we had been tracking, his name is Alpha and he has been targeting a hero named Black Sapphire.”

“We have reason to believe that Alpha has been repeatedly breaching into this parallel Earth, for what purpose we do not know, but we feel as if he thinks we are at war.”  Agent Frost continued.

“What do you need from us?”  Aeon hovered slightly above the ground, his air of superiority filling the whole of the chamber they were in.

“We need the members of Horizon to traverse the void and enter this other world and try and stop whatever it is that Alpha is trying to accomplish before we end up in open conflict with another universe.  Each breach is fracturing the structure of reality itself and if this continues for much longer everything will be over.”  Frost waved over another member of the DSA he smiled at them all.  “This is Breach, he is one of our powered agents.  He has the ability to enter anything, breaching as it were including the veil between worlds.”

“Sometimes that is, I sort of teleport between places by bypassing the veil that lay between realms, I can also pick locks very well.”  Breach spoke quietly.  “I can use one of the fractures to gain access to this other place easily.  We have found an issue related to the whole process though, we can only take people who have a copy on the other world, anyone who doesn’t have an analog gets rejected.”

“How do you mean rejected?”  Soldier American asked.

“Pushed back away from the fracture, non-violently, so we sent a probe through and did a scan for identical energy signatures and cross matched them against our datatbase’s and called Horizon in.  We found matches on the other side for almost every person on your team and so we ask if you will help us stop a war by going into another universe for the sake of our universe and humanity?”  Powerhouse followed.

The members of Horizon talked amongst themselves for some time before responding.  Aeon spoke up and agreed to the task set before them.

“There is one last stipulation.  We have three prisoners from this universe and we want them return to the authorities there.”  Powerhouse asked Aeon directly.

Aeon nodded, “Let’s do this then.”  Breach nodded and the Horizon and agents of the DSA transported the group to the closest fracture.

John Phoenix, Immortal.  Born a completely normal person until his genes kicked in and he became a flame specialist, then one fateful day he was murdered during a mission and passed on from this mortal coil that is until he woke up again.

Aeon is also known as the sun eater.  He was exiled into a sun by his people where he escaped and absorbed the sun from within which in turn led to the death of his people.  His stance on justice is skewed which is do it part in

Soldier American was once a normal man until D-Day when the massacre at the beaches of Normandy led to the slaughter of thousands of allied troops, he absorbed the souls of all the men slain and gain their insights, strengths and stamina.  He led the charge and won the day almost single handedly in this reality.

Isabella, the Warchild is a warrior from worlds unknown, a perfect fighter who knows no losses in combat.  Unlucky in love and all the more bitter for it, works with the men on Horizon with great trepidation.

Odin is not the actual deity but an immortal who has taken the title for his own purposes.  Odin has lived for millennia and has mastered hundreds of styles of combat, but his personal weapon is a glaive called Ban’deth the Unrighteous Blade.

Android X is cobbled together from parts pulled from various robot threats that world has faced through the years.  Built by Jarod Blacknell and Mr. Amazing to assist with communications and tactical support.

Blrrr is capable of pulling speed from the Earth’s rotation, and cybernetically enhanced, his brain has been augmented to process information at a much faster rate while he is in speed mode.

Saturday Super Stories - The Event 2

"I have pulled from The Knowledge tales from the Event that ravaged two universes.  I start at the beginning and will tell the important parts, and while there are many stories to be told, this will be quick."  Chief Archivist of the Catalogers.

“Many things have been culled from this universe, many lives lost, some heroically, some fruitlessly, but everything and everyone met has had an impact.”

The Event 2 - Opening Salvo

Alpha stood over the pile of rocks that had once been Robert Garvey, the stranger from another universe, and frowned.  His installation had been attacked and compromised and he had been personally assaulted by a woman he had found inferior to him, and he had underestimated her, it would not happen again.

The pile shifted slightly it’s ‘face’ turning to look at him.  “You were not alone were you rock man?”  Alpha asked, “My agents within the DSA claim that three more people were taken into custody the night you arrived, each bearing strange abilities.  My people here in the Epsilon Facility have determined that you came from another universe and your ‘body’ is infused with cosmic radiation similar to that of a star.”

“I don’t know nuthin’ about all that, we got here by accident.  We was investigating a space anomaly and this guy showed up and then we were crashing into the earth.”  Bob’s voice was gravely like stones scraping against one another, which in a way was exactly what was happening.

“Hmm, there is power in the stone of Earth, and in the other elements, they all destroy everything that they touch, everything.”  Alpha reached down and took hold of Roberts stones and poured energy into them, he began to scream as they began to fuse together, the screaming grew louder and, louder until they cut off all together as Robert lost consciousness.

But still Alpha poured his energy into the stone and watched as they fused into a shape of a man, each piece locking into place like a puzzle until the whole of the man lay before him, “My gift to you.”

The Year 2199, Super U’niverse

Titan stood in the window of TitanCorp Tower and watched as the sun set on New York City, the shadows swallowing the city bit by bit, all encompassing darkness creeping in.  Some days he missed the stars, the lights of the city drowning them out, all except the three burning in the heavens watching down on the world.  He sighed, he missed the old days before the Mega-Corporations ate the world and there were parts of the countryside left, when nature was allowed to grow.  “I really hate the future,” he mumbled.

Then something slammed into the side of the building and the whole of it began to rock back and forth.  “What the frell?”  He walked over to the computers and found that three whole stories had been struck by an object that was slowly moving deeper into the building towards the main central supports.  He pulled himself into his armor and grabbed his gun and concentrated his mass enhancing as his muscle strength increased.

He strode down the hallway after the elevator had deposited him on the appropriate level.  A large robot was in the process of ripping into the walls next to one of the support beams as a large round hole in its chest began to spin and power up.  "Who in the twelve hells do you think you are, coming into my home and wrecking this much havoc, do you know who I am?"  He roared.

"It matters not, I have been tasked by Doctor Johann Spindlar to remove this structure from the world, and the ImpossiBot does not fail when given a task."  The machine replied.  Titan raised his weapon and aimed.  "I would advise against that, if you were to breach my core I would go into meltdown and much of the city would be lost."  Titan smirked and fired, the weapon appeared to do nothing but a low hum and the instantaneous vanishing of the robots head proved it had worked.  He smiled, and then quickly noticed the energy weapon still charging.

"Building prepare jettison, level 18 through 36, cache artifacts into the tesseracts and launch orbital displacement."

CONFIRMED

The building rumbled and was launched into the air like a rocket, inertia engines pushing the whole of it into space as the ImpossiBot exploded and destroyed the building, Titan grimaced as his armor strained against the force and fell into blissful unconsciousness as the attack claimed him.

The Present Day, Earth II

"This will be the second attempt at attacking the new universe, my calculations were off by .0003% and the ImpossiBot landed in that worlds future, the target was dead on but the year was wrong.  My second creation the ImprobaBot, a newer design, one that cultivates the Chaos and Order spheres of magic and is reinforced magically."  Johann Spindlar, Doctor and Super Scientist spoke to Alpha and a small camera that was recording the entire situation.

"It will work this time?"  Alpha questioned.  The doctor nodded and slammed a palm down on a large red button that triggered the launch.  The platform shunted the robot into the parallel reality like a cannon shot.  They turned to watch through a view screen, that was taking advantage of the fractures in reality that the HelixONE's breach had caused.

Meanwhile in the Super U'niverse

The sound was like fabric tearing and the building shook in its foundation.  Almost immediately the fire alarm sounded and the sprinkler system activated.  "RIPTEARSUNDERDESTROY"  The ImprobaBot wailed into the room and it began to rip apart the support structure.  It only took a moment for the main support to collapse and the building to crumble.

Sometime later...

SuperDude hovered over the massive sinkhole in New York City and listened to Dawnbringer as it explained what he was witnessing.  He called to the rest of the WMD and as they each arrived to the scene to investigate the ImprobaBot scanned each and fed the information back to the Epsilon Base.

'Soon...'

Saturday Super Stories - The Event 1

"I have pulled from The Knowledge tales from the Event that ravaged two universes.  I start at the beginning and will tell the important parts, and while there are many stories to be told, this will be quick."  Chief Archivist of the Catalogers.

The Event - The Family Part 1 (Escape from Dimension X)

<The Omega Sanction>

"WE HAVE INCOMING!!!" One of the techs screamed at Alpha just as the roof caved in with a gigantic explosion. Fire and shrapnel ripped through the main computer room, sparks shot from the various devices stored in and around the main hub, smoke began to billow and swirl around.

Alpha stood as the last pieces settled on the ground, he surveyed the area and found his entire technical staff dead, 90% of the machines inoperable and a large ship punched through with its engines winding down. Across the bow, the paint badly damaged: HelixONE.

Alpha sighed and strode to the hatch of the ship. He reached out and grasped it by the hinges and wrenched as hard as he could, the metal quickly cooled, then cracked and shattered under the pure PSI of his grasp.

"I know that you are in there. Please exit the ship quickly." He called into the opening, his voiced echoing back at him.

"I'm coming, and I'm all alone! I'm coming out." A massive pile of rocks shifted into position in front of the door, started to climb out, then collapsed. "But I think something went wrong." It mumbled.

"No shit," One of the wounded not quite dead technical staff whispered.

"Grab that...whatever the hell it is and bring it to the Gamma Labs. Send in two teams to search the rest of the ship." Alpha walked away before his anger destroyed the creature and before he could get some answers.

<Inside HelixONE>

Richard Reader watched from one of the still working monitors. Robert Garvey had saved them for a few minutes at least. "I don't know what to do." His wife, Sadie, hissed at his side. "I can't stop glowing." He shot a harsh look over his shoulder at her.

"Be quiet. I'm thinking," He whispered.

"Don't do that, this is affecting all of us," she retorted. "You aren't alone here."

"Yes, DEAR," He replied. "But unless you have a plan in that glowing bosom of yours I suggest you be quiet." Her mouth opened and closed but she remained silent.

The entire ship shuddered as the zone next to it exploded in a million shards of icy death, flying into the corridors and wrecking havoc.

"I think perhaps, things outside have gotten worse," Reader spoke, "We need to move now, before something even worse happens." He grabbed his wife's glowing hand and motioned for the super-heated Jordana to follow them. He led them up the length of the ship and towards the landing gear compartments.

Outside the gear's hatch in an adjacent hallway, two of the Omega Sanction employee's were working on cutting into the ship from below, and were taken completely by surprise when the outside of the hull exploded outward in super-heated metal. Their deaths were instantaneous.

Reader dropped out and then helped Jordana and Sadie down in turn. She gasped at the melting, burning corpses, and then began to cry. Reader's eyes narrowed. "We don't have time for this, we need to find Robert and escape from wherever we have landed, without 'starting shit' as Black put it."

"I think we're too late for that," Sadie responded.

He smirked, "You may be right, dear." He began to move.

<The Omega Sanction>

Black Sapphire walked from the hole she had created down from the surface along side of the crashed ships impact point.  Freezing the soil down on an angle and boosting her strength to its maximum before punching and shattering a hole down into the underground complex.

“ALPHA!!” She screamed out.

She strode through the debris of the earth, metal and ship as she searched for her opponent.  She heard a chuckle from the ground near her feet and she looked down and saw a computer tech buried under the rubble, a pool of blood slowly spreading out from him.  “What’s so funny jackass?”  She asked as she knelt beside him.

“You, you’re here…cough…to die, just as the shit starts to hit the fan…cough…heh, Alpha is going to kill you, we know everything there is to know about you,” his eyes slid shut and he breathed his last breath.

“Not everything retard, I hardly ever use all of my powers.”  Sapphire stood back up and stepped over the corpse and continued to make her way through the hallways leading out of the central computer zone, she noted as she exited that the walls were painted like a hospital with colored arrows leading to different parts of the complex.  She noticed some blood on the floor heading towards the Gamma Labs and Central Offices; she started down the hallway in that direction.

<Deeper in the Omega Sanction>

"I have no idea what is going on but we need to find Robert and exit as soon as we can."  Richard hissed.

"These tubes..." Sadie pointed as an explosion shook them violently in their housings. "There are people inside of them." From behind the glass a woman in the nearest tube stared at them, her cheek crossed in a scar. "I think she's awake."

"It doesn't matter. Let's move." Reader pulled at her and they continued deeper.

<The Epsilon Center>

Sapphire walked into the Central Office and found a maze of cubicles and a large empty room.  Large flat screen televisions were scattered around the room, several had the rainbow of a dead signal, but one showed a group of technicians fighting a pile of rocks and Alpha talking to them as they struggled.  She snarled and stepped back out and began to run down the hallway towards the Gamma Lab.

<The Gamma Lab>

Sapphire kicked the sliding doors of the Gamma Labs inwards in an explosion of glass and metal shards.  She snarled at the technicians frozen in shock at her entrance and they began to back away from her.  Alpha smiled at her.

“Welcome child,” he spoke loudly and his voice carried.

“Asshole it’s time I took you down for all the crap you have put me through,” her knuckles popped as she leapt at him.  He responded with a single fist, the shockwave rocked the floor.

<The Surface>

Agents stood around the massive wounds in the Earth, their weapons at the ready, just as Reader and his people breached the surface nearby.  The Agents pivoted on the new opponents.

Reader stared back at them.  "We Come in Peace?" He spoke quickly.

Agents Frost and Powerhouse moved to the front of the group.  “We’re with the DSA and you will submit to containment until the scene is secure and we have had time to question you thoroughly about what has happened.”  Reader nodded.  Several Agents moved up with handcuffs, two of which were bulky and when placed on Jordana and Sadie shut their abilities off.

“Interesting,” Reader mumbled.  The Agents led them to a van and placed them in the back and closed them inside and moved back to secure the scene as the sounds of battle began to waft up through the holes and the ground began to vibrate from the conflict that raged beneath the surface.
