Saturday Super Stories - The Event 4 G

"I have pulled from The Knowledge tales from the Event that ravaged two universes.  I start at the beginning and will tell the important parts, and while there are many stories to be told, this will be quick."  Chief Archivist of the Catalogers.

“Many things have been culled from this universe, many lives lost, some heroically, some fruitlessly, but everything and everyone met has had an impact.  Some people and places are the same regardless of the world on which it lay, it spreads like an infection.”

“A smart man once said ‘There is more than one of everything.”

The Event 4 - Dopplegang’land G “Dark Avenger Versus Jarod Blacknell”

"Is that a head in a jar?"  Jarod asked the Dark Avenger who nodded his affirmative.  Blacknell knelt and leaned closer to it, "An ape head with steampunk tubes in its brain, Hitler?"

The Dark Avenger grunted.  "Despot from the 41st century, the Future Phantom of Star Sector 12, his real name was Anthony.  Transplanted himself into an Ape body after he got a rare cancer, stole the Ape from a circus in the early 20th century. His tech was fascinating until we cut his head off and the biotechnology failed since it was keyed to his DNA."

"We had someone similar where I came from, it was a woman with way more tech, she was practically a cyborg with animal grafts. Simian Sorceress was her name if I recall."

"Any time you want to explain who, what and why you are in my sanctuary."

"My name is Jarod Blacknell and I stowed away inside of one of my Horizon members since I did not personally possess a counterpart on this Earth.  So after relieving myself of his armored shell I sought out the only one who could help me, you."  Jarod thrust a finger at the Dark Avenger.  "It wasn't that difficult to narrow down the search and then cross reference files and follow the money to figure out which one of this cities elite wasn't the Dark Avenger."

"That should have been impossible, I have personally taken interest in my own life and removed as much as possible so that no one could figure out who I am or my mission."

"Exactly, you are a void of information and that's what brought me to you.  Anyone hiding themselves would have done that."  Jarod looked cocky and the smugness crept into his smirk.

"I don't know you, and I already don't like you.  You are claiming to be from another dimension, and your team, Horizon, is invading our dimension because you felt you were already attacked and are responding in kind before we can send a second attack against your people?"

"That is correct."

"You understand this sounds insane."

"That is also correct. But we have the attackers in custody, three of them, although they claim there is a forth being held by some military complex people where they breached our dimension and crashed."  The Dark Avenger paused and turned to his computer, and tapped a few keys.

A press conference began to play, and he paused it when the cameraman went to a wider shot and showcased the four pilots of HelixOne.  "That's three of them, although that woman is glowing and the other seems to radiate some kind of intense heat.  The other man must be the one who is captured."  Jarod rested his hand back at his side after pointing at the screen.

The Dark Avenger tapped a few more keys and even more monitors sparked to life and a massive console powered up with a map of the world on it.  Several blips indicated members of the WMD were in combat.  "I find it interesting that my people are engaged with your team and not a single one of them has tried to call for help.  SuperDude isn't even on planet."

"That's because we're blocking your communications, wasn't that hard to do, you use the same frequency as us."  A shadow dropped behind Jarod from above and began to move closer.

"Hmm, thanks for that.  Computer please switch all active communications through the Hub and reroute Phantom's six through fifteen."  The computer was quiet for a moment and then monitors began to change to take in the combat of the WMD and IED members currently engaged in combat hijacking any feeds nearby.  The screams of Jasmine Caulders, one of the Adventurers of the Undiscovered, ripped through the Avenging Cavern.

"HE FUCKING KILLED HIM!!  WHY ISN'T ANYONE RESPONDING TO THIS GODDAMN THING!! PLEASE HELP!!  JACK RABBIT IS DEAD AND..."  The Dark Avenger turned to look at Jarod Blacknell again, Jarod held the gun he had pulled steady and there was no look of pleasure on his face at all.

"I am sorry about that, but the second we arrived in this dimension the others became extremely agitated and violent and...they weren't themselves anymore.  We might be extreme in our methods but we are heroes where we come from, this universe is tainted and you all don't see it, or have acclimated to the climate.  The gun is for my protection, and I will only use it if I have t..."  The shadow attacked Jarod from behind and the gun flew into the darkness and he collapsed to the ground, blood beginning to well up from the wound on the back of his head.

"What?"  The shadowed figure asked as he stepped into the light.  "He had a gun and broke in to the cavern, he was a threat."

The Dark Avenger ground his teeth, "As my Protege you follow my lead and my lead only, you haven't hit the stage where I feel you can think for yourself yet."  Protege clenched his fist.

"Yessir," he forced out between clenched teeth.

"If you don't like it there's the door."  The Dark Avenger pointed.

"I have class anyway."  Protege turned and walked calmly away, as Bryan turned to Jarod's unconscious body.

"What in the hells I am going to do with you?"

Saturday Super Stories - The Event 4 F

"I have pulled from The Knowledge tales from the Event that ravaged two universes.  I start at the beginning and will tell the important parts, and while there are many stories to be told, this will be quick."  Chief Archivist of the Catalogers.

The Event 4 - Dopplegang’land F "The Conflict of Kings"
> “King Carp Versus Man’phibian” & "King Hrolf Versus Odin"

"I am the ruler of this ocean!!"  King Carp roared through the water across the chasm of the unrelenting tigress.  The monster that stood on the other side smiled back at him.

"Perhaps you were once but not any longer, for I am Man'phibian and Iay claim to the three cities and with them I shall soon secure my place among the worlds true rulers, the Underguard."

"The who?"  King Carp paused in his assault and stared at the creature before him.

"You have heard of them of course, everyone has, one of their names is the Illuminati, or the Triumvirate.  They have their hands in everything and everyone.  They had their hands in your formation and in ours, the Horizon."

"Why are you telling me any of this?"

"Because you are the most useless of your group and I've already defeated you.  You take the aspects of the sea animals you wear, and I take the attributes of the creatures I have consumed.  I have exuded a cloud of paralytic enzymes into the water around us and you have been absorbing them this entire time."

"Ah that explains the taste in the water then."  King Carps hand lashed out and his spear appeared and flew into Man'phibians chest, puncturing his heart and lung, and burst forth from his back severing his spine.  Man'phibians eyes widened and then he was dead.  "I'm the King and I love being underestimated."

* * * * * *

Hrolf pulled Skofnung from the ground where it had landed.  He stared hard at the man who called himself Odin and the beast he sat astride, its eight legs pawing at the ground furiously.  "I do not know why we must battle, but I will not lay down like a babe and just take the beating that you intend to deliver.  I am a King and these are my lands and your trespass will no longer stand."

Odin laughed at the King and pulled his glaive closer to his side, its tip pointed at Hrolf's heart. Ban’deth the Unrighteous Blade snickered within him, and he could feel the sword respond at its jest.  "We both wield weapons that drive us."

Hrolf looked to his sword and nodded.  "True but you have appeared before me from the thinnest of air and drew upon me and in my startled state I was disarmed.  Skofnung demands blood, and it tells me yours will be one it can feast upon for ages."

Sleipnir made a noise and stamped several of its feet on the ground.  Odin laughed again.  "You are alone and I am immortal, there is no chance of victory as long as I have my blade and my steed.  We are an army unto ourselves."  Hrolf's mouth split into a grin and jumped forward slamming a fist into the monstrous horses face and knocked it unconscious, it swayed for a moment before beginning to topple.

"As much as it pains me to have struck such a magnificent beat, I must be victorious!!"  His blade slashed forward and the glaive swung around and blocked the strike.  Odin rolled from his saddle and away from the horse before it had a chance to pin him beneath it.  Hrolf followed the man as he raced over the falling beast and came down with a flurry of attacks each blocked in turn by Odin's lengthy advantage.  Hrolf continued on and pressed the onslaught of attacks with more aggression and more anger fueled by his minor victory.  Odin continued to back peddle only able to defend against the mad king.

"Odin you claim I had no army, and this is true for those three took it from me, but you never said I had no friends," Hrolf's eyes flickered just for a moment behind Odin, "NOW!!"  Odin began to twist to defend against the rear attack as Skofnung sank underneath his chest plate and buried itself in his heart.

Ban'deth roared in displeasure and then began to cackle with laughter.

Skofnung drank deep of the immortals blood and hummed with content.

As the light in Odin's eyes began to fade as his life force was drained of him he saw only a goat munching on some grass.  It stopped chewing for a moment and seemed to wink at him.
